You can find us in Kalbadevi at 279 289. This part of Mumbai is always incredibly busy, with narrow lanes and lots of people moving goods around. Our space is tucked away in one of those older buildings. It’s a mix of an office and a small storage area for the parts we handle. There are stacks of catalogs and components on almost every surface. It isn't a place designed for visitors to come and hang out; it's where we get the actual engineering business done. We have a couple of old fans that struggle to keep the place cool in the summer heat. The noise from the street below is constant, with horns and people shouting, but it’s just part of being in Kalbadevi. Most of us have worked here for a long time and we know where everything is, even if it looks messy to someone else. We deal with a lot of local traders and businesses in the area. We don't use any fancy software to run the place, just some ledgers and a basic computer. It’s a very traditional way of working. We open the shutters in the morning and close them once the sun goes down. It’s an honest day’s work without any of the corporate polish you see in the newer parts of the city. We often grab some snacks from the vendors outside when the afternoon hunger kicks in. It’s just how things are here.
