We’ve been running things from Gulraj Apartment in Mumbai for some time now. Being based in B-1201 means we’re right in the thick of it. It’s a busy building and the elevators can be a bit slow during the morning rush, but we make it work. Most days involve a lot of phone calls and checking over plans for different engineering projects. We aren't a massive corporation with hundreds of people; it’s just a dedicated group of us who know our way around a toolkit and a circuit board. The weather in Mumbai can be pretty rough on equipment, especially with the humidity and the monsoon rains, so we spend a lot of time figuring out how to keep things running properly. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep our files and meet up before heading out to various sites across the city. Sometimes we stay late to finish up paperwork because that’s just how it goes in this line of work. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, with new shops opening and old ones closing down. We handle the technical side of things so others don't have to worry about it. It’s just practical, everyday engineering work. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. If a job needs doing, we just get to it and try to do it right. It’s a living, and we’re glad to be doing it here. We usually have the radio on in the background.
