El Pin

El Pin operates out of Flat 4 in Devkaran Mansion, right on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road in Manga. The building has that old-school charm, with thick walls and high ceilings, but it also means the plumbing and wiring can be a bit temperamental. We’ve set up our workspace in the main room of the flat, where the light comes in from the large windows. It’s a busy road outside, so there’s a constant hum of traffic and people shouting, but we’ve learned to tune it out. Our furniture is a mix of things we’ve picked up over the years—nothing matches, but everything serves a purpose. We spend a lot of our time hunched over the long wooden table we use as a communal desk. There are always papers flying around when the breeze picks up. We don’t have a big corporate sign or a lobby; you just come up the stairs and knock on the door. The kitchen is mostly used for storing files and making endless rounds of coffee. It feels more like a workshop than a traditional office, which suits us just fine. We like the history of the mansion and being right in the middle of the action on the main road. It’s a practical place for us to get our daily tasks done without any of the usual office politics or formal stuff that you find elsewhere. We just keep our heads down and get the work finished.
