E B Industries Works

We have been at E B Industries Works for a long time now. Our place is in the Goregaon East Industrial Estate, right in the Am Industrial Area. It’s quite close to Sona Wala Cross Road, which is always packed with trucks and delivery vans. The noise from the machines next door is something you just get used to after a week or so. It’s a gritty kind of place with grease on the floor and the smell of metal in the air. We don't have a fancy reception desk or anyone in a suit. Mostly it’s just us in our work clothes, getting our hands dirty with whatever project is on the bench that day. The industrial estate is a maze of small lanes and it can be hard to find us if it’s your first time coming here. Usually, we just tell people to look for the big blue door near the turn. We drink a lot of chai to keep going during the long shifts. Sometimes the power goes out and we all just sit outside and wait for it to come back, talking about how Goregaon has changed over the years. It’s hard work and the summer heat makes the shed feel like an oven, but it is what it is. We just focus on the task in front of us and try to get it finished before the day ends.
