Dye Chem House is over at Bhat Bazar, room number 11 at house 23. It’s a very old part of the city and the streets are quite narrow around here. We deal with dyes and chemicals, mostly for small textile works or local craftsmen. The room is quite packed with containers and bags of powder. You can usually smell the chemicals before you even reach the door. It’s not a fancy setup, just a practical space for storing and measuring things out. We’ve been in this same spot for many years now. Bhat Bazar is always crowded with porters and handcarts, so getting stuff in and out takes some patience. We don't have a computer system for our stock, we just know what’s on the shelves. It’s just a few of us working here. We open early because that’s when the market starts moving. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink tea, and other days we can't keep up with the people coming in. We don't do any advertising. People in the trade know we are at house 23, room 11. It’s a basic business. We don't try to make it look like something it isn't. We just provide the materials that people in this neighborhood have been using for a long time. It’s dark inside sometimes but we have a few good lamps to see what we are doing.
