Dr.Balabhai Nanavati Hospital

The hospital is tucked into Krishna Kutir on Juhu Tara Road, right near the Sea Princess hotel. If you know the Sagrika Society area, you know it’s a busy part of the city. We’ve been here a long time. It’s not one of those glass-and-steel modern buildings you see in magazines. It’s a practical place where we get the work done. The corridors are a bit narrow and the paint might be peeling in a couple of spots, but that’s because we’re focused on the patients, not the decor. On a typical Tuesday morning, the lobby is full of people from the neighborhood. Some are here for quick check-ups and others are staying a bit longer. We have various departments spread out across the floors. It can be a bit confusing to find your way around at first, but the staff is usually around to point you in the right direction. The traffic on Juhu Tara Road is always loud, but you get used to it. We see a lot of families who have lived in the nearby societies for decades. They come to us because we’re close and they know what to expect. There isn’t much corporate talk here. We just deal with the charts and the medical needs as they come. It’s a lot of long hours for the team, but that’s just how hospital work is in a place like this. We just keep the lights on and help whoever walks through the door.
