Dr Rajiv Shaharogya Nidhi Hospital

Our hospital is situated in Vile Parle West, specifically on Northsouth Road Number 12. A lot of people find us by looking for Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow, since we are right behind it. I am Dr. Rajiv and I work here at Shaharogya Nidhi Hospital. It is a local place that has been serving this part of Mumbai for many years. We are not one of those massive, shiny glass hospitals you see in the newspapers. We are a more practical, community-focused building. The halls are often busy with families and patients from the neighborhood. We handle a lot of different medical needs here. Because we are near such a famous landmark, we get people asking for directions all the time. But inside, it is all about the patients. The rooms are simple and the staff works hard. Sometimes things get loud because of the city noise outside, but we do our best to keep it calm for the people staying with us. I spend a lot of time walking these corridors. I have seen many people recover and go home, which is the best part of the job. We do not have a fancy reception or a coffee shop, just beds and doctors and nurses doing their work. It is a place where people from Vile Parle know they can come when they are sick. We just keep going, day after day, doing what needs to be done.
