Dr. Ambedkar College Of Commerce & Economics Wadala [ N.S.S Unit ]

Our college unit is located in Wadala, right in the heart of Mumbai. If you know the area, you know it is a mix of old residential buildings and busy railway lines. We are part of the commerce and economics college, specifically focusing on the N.S.S activities. Our small office is often full of students who want to sign up for community work or help out with local projects. Being in Mumbai means we are always dealing with the humidity and the crowded trains that the students use to get here. The college building itself is quite large and sees thousands of students every day. We spend a lot of time organizing things like blood donation camps or cleaning up the local areas nearby. We do a lot of practical work here. You will often see us sitting around a table covered in files and posters for the next event. There is nothing fancy about our setup; it is just a bunch of desks and some old cupboards filled with supplies. The students are hardworking and mostly come from middle-class families around Mumbai. We have to deal with the noise of the city and the occasional rains that flood the streets outside. It is just a regular part of life for us here in Wadala. We just keep doing our bit for the community while the students finish their degrees and move on to their jobs.
