Dosti Collection

Panchashil Nagar is a busy part of Ghatkopar and we’ve been here at Datta Mandir Chawl for a while now. The shop is small but it gets the job done. Every morning we open up early because people start moving around the Tekdi early. It gets quite dusty here on Golibar Road with all the traffic, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the shelves before the first customers walk in. It's mostly locals who come in, people we've known for years. Sometimes they just stop to talk about the weather or the new construction down the street. We keep a good variety of clothes, things that people actually wear every day. It’s not a fancy place with big lights and glass doors. Just a regular shop where you can find what you need without much fuss. My brother helps out in the evenings when it gets crowded. We get a lot of sun in the afternoon so we have to keep the curtain half down. Dealing with the suppliers can be a headache sometimes, especially when the truck gets stuck in the narrow lane near the chawl. But we manage. Most days are okay. We have tea from the stall across the road and keep things moving. That's just how it is here in this part of town. Dosti Collection isn't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure you have a decent shirt for work or a nice outfit for a dinner. We like it here.
