Our shop is at number 7 in Malad West. It’s a small place where we do a bit of everything related to clothes and tailoring. We’ve been in Malad for a long time, and the neighborhood has grown up all around us. The shop is usually quite full of stuff—mannequins, rolls of lace, and half-finished outfits hanging from the ceiling. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. We spend most of our hours sewing or helping people figure out what kind of design they want. The sewing machines are almost always running, so there’s a constant hum in the background. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we keep the door open to get a bit of a breeze from the street. We don’t have a big sign or any bright lights. Most people find us because they live nearby or their mother told them about us. It’s just a regular local business. We have our regulars who come in just to say hello even if they aren't buying anything. We try to get things done on time, but sometimes a job takes longer than we thought it would. That’s just the way it is with handmade things. We don't make any big promises, we just do the work and hope people like what they get.
