Dilip

Dilip is the name on the door here at 159 Bhulabhai Desai Road. We are inside the Karunasagar Estate, specifically in the Tambakuwala Building. It’s Flat No 1 on Anil Starch Mill Road. The directions sound a bit complicated, but once you’re on Bhulabhai Desai, it’s not too hard to find. The building has been here for ages and it shows its age in a nice way. We’re just a small operation running out of this ground-floor flat. It feels more like a home than a corporate office, which is fine by us. There’s a lot of history in these walls. We spend our days handling whatever tasks come our way. Sometimes it’s quiet and we just sit and drink tea while looking at the mill road outside. Other times, it’s a bit of a scramble to get things finished before the day ends. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. It’s just a name on a plaque. The neighborhood has its own rhythm and we’ve learned to move with it. Working out of the Karunasagar Estate means we see a lot of the same faces every day. It’s a comfortable way to work. We aren’t doing anything revolutionary, just putting in the hours and making sure we do things right. It’s a plain, simple life here in Flat No 1. We just get on with it.
