You’ll find us right at the Golpitha Junction in Girgaon, inside the Alankar Building. We are on the fourth floor of plot 245/247. This part of Mumbai is always loud and crowded because of the junction, and the noise from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Road definitely makes its way up to us. The building itself has seen better days, but it has a lot of character. We’ve got a simple consultancy setup here. Most of the space is taken up by old wooden desks and cabinets full of technical files. We don’t have a fancy reception area, so visitors usually just walk right in. The stairs are a bit steep, so we all have strong legs from going up and down. There is a small tea stall downstairs where we usually get our fix twice a day. The office can get a bit dusty with all the traffic outside, so we’re constantly wiping down our screens. We focus on the technical side of the diamond world, which involves a lot of reading and checking details. It’s not the kind of work that gets you in the newspapers, but it keeps us busy. Our team is small, and we’ve been working together in this same spot for years. We know all the local shopkeepers and the rhythms of the street. It’s just a normal, hardworking office in an old corner of the city where we get things done.
