Our office is way up on the 13th floor of the B wing in the Lands End building. If you know Dongarsi Road in Walkeshwar, you’ll know it’s a bit of a climb to get up here, but the view of the city is alright. We’ve been based at plot 29D for a long time. The Teen Batti area is always humming with traffic and people, especially during the morning rush. Inside the office, things are pretty straightforward. We have our workstations set up near the windows to get the best light for looking at the diamonds. It’s an older building, so you might hear the pipes clanking every now and then or the elevator making a bit of a fuss. We share the floor with a few other companies, but it stays relatively quiet for the most part. There’s a guy who brings around tea in the afternoon, which is usually the highlight of our day. We don’t have any big posters or fancy carpets on the floor. It’s just a practical workspace where we can focus on our inventory and the tasks at hand. Sometimes the walk from the main gate to the B wing feels longer than it is, especially when it’s raining. We’ve grown used to the quirks of this place and the way the salt air from the coast affects the window frames. It’s just a solid, honest spot for us to handle our business without any unnecessary drama or polish.
