You can find Diamond Auto Garage & Transport located in Santacruz East. We are right on the 8th Main, at the 3rd Cross, which is very near the Lakhbir Petrol Pump. It’s a busy corner of the neighborhood with a lot of traffic going past all day. The garage is usually quite a mess with car parts, old tires, and tools scattered around. My clothes and hands are almost always covered in oil, but that is just part of the job. We fix cars that have broken down and we also run a small transport business with a few trucks. It is a lot of work keeping everything moving. We don't have a clean office for customers to sit in. You usually just stand near the entrance and we talk about what is wrong with your vehicle. The transport side of things keeps me busy on the phone, trying to coordinate where the drivers are. Santacruz can get very hot, and working under a metal roof all day is tough, but we are used to it. We have been at this same spot for a long time now. People know they can find us near the petrol pump if their engine starts making a funny noise. We aren't trying to be the biggest garage in Mumbai. We just want to get the vehicles back on the road so people can go about their day. It is hard work but we like it.
