Nivona Creation

Nivona Creation is right in the heart of Dharavi, at Room No. 236 in Ujala Chawl. We are part of the Indira Qureshi Nagar area, specifically in Gopinath Colony No. 1. If you know the area, you know it is always humming with activity. There is a constant sound of people talking, carts moving, and the general buzz of work being done all around us. Our room is not very big, so we have to be very smart about how we use the space. We have shelves stacked high with everything we need, and we try to keep things as tidy as possible so we don't trip over each other. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we have a couple of strong fans that help keep the air moving. We have lived and worked in this neighborhood for a long time, so we are used to the rhythm of the chawl. People are always coming and going, and there is a real sense of community here. We mostly just focus on the pieces we are putting together, sitting at our machines or standing at the cutting table for hours. It is hard work, but it is what we know how to do. We don't spend money on marketing or anything like that; we just let the work speak for itself. It is a busy life.
