Our units are numbered 1 A, J, and K inside the Laxmi Industrial Estate. It's located on Link Road in the Andheri West area. It’s a pretty well-known estate in this part of town, so it's not too hard to find. We do various types of engineering work, mostly focused on fabrication and putting things together. We have three units right next to each other to give us enough space for all the machines. It can get a bit hectic moving back and forth between them all day long. Andheri is always crowded with people, so just getting to the estate in the morning is a big task. We’ve been based here for many years. The walls are a bit stained from the work and the floor is cracked in a few places, but it’s a real working shop. We don't have a human resources department or any fancy managers. It’s just the owner and the guys working on the floor. We usually talk about the work and our families over lunch. We handle a lot of heavy metal parts every day. Sometimes the pieces are too big and we have to use the hoist to move them. We keep a lot of our spare parts and materials in the J unit. It’s a bit of a jumble in there, but we know exactly where everything is kept. We aren't trying to be some massive company. We just want to do the job right so we can head home. It’s a straightforward, honest life.
