Daksh Mumbai

Daksh Mumbai is found at Shop No. 2 inside the J. W. Marriot building on Juhu Tara Road. Even though the hotel is quite grand, our little shop is pretty straightforward. We spend our time looking out at the traffic on Juhu Tara Road and the people walking toward the beach. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful about where we put everything. We don't have a huge staff, just a couple of us who take turns being here. The days can be long, especially when the tourist season is busy. We spend a lot of time folding items and keeping the glass clean. It’s a different vibe from the busy markets; it’s a bit quieter, but still has its own rhythm. We don't use any complicated sales pitches. If someone walks in, we just show them what we have on the racks. Sometimes we get a nice breeze from the sea, but mostly it's just the hum of the AC. We keep our records in a simple book under the counter. It's a nice spot, but at the end of the day, it's just work. We pack up our things and head home like everyone else. There's nothing too fancy about how we run things, we just stay consistent and show up every morning.
