Silver Saffron

We’re tucked away in Shop No. 4 of Balgopal Industries on Senapati Bapat Marg. Dadar West is a hectic place to be, but it’s where all the action is. At Silver Saffron, the space is small, so we have to be smart about where we put things. Most of our day is spent navigating between the stacks of goods and the small counter we use for everything. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy to worry about that. People from the nearby offices often stop by just to see what’s new or to escape the rain during the monsoon. We don’t have a big sales team; it’s just us. We know most of the people who walk through the door by name. We talk about the local trains, the price of vegetables, and the latest news while we work. It’s a very local feel. The fan on the ceiling wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving. We don’t make any big promises about being the best or anything. We just show up, open the shop, and do what needs to be done. By the time we close up, the street lights are on and Dadar is still as busy as ever. It’s a tired kind of feeling at the end of the shift, but a good one that comes from a full day of work.
