Converter

If you find yourself on Wheeler Road in Bhandup West, you’ll see us right across from the Bhandup Police Station. Being opposite the cops means things stay relatively orderly around here, though the traffic can be a nightmare during rush hour. Our place, Converter, is tucked into number 41458, and it’s a busy spot most of the time. The shop floor is usually covered in some kind of project, and there’s always a faint smell of oil or metal in the air. We aren’t big on decorating, so the walls are mostly just covered in old calendars and shelves full of parts we might need someday. It’s a bit dusty, honestly, but that’s just how it goes when you’re working with your hands all day. We spend a lot of time hovering over workbenches, trying to get things lined up right. The sun hits the front of the building in the afternoon, making it pretty hot until the sun goes down behind the buildings across the street. We usually eat our lunch sitting on whatever stools are free, watching the people go by on their way to the station. It’s a straightforward life here. We open up, get to work, deal with the stuff that breaks, and head home when the job is done. There’s no corporate talk here, just the sound of tools and the occasional radio playing in the background. We keep the doors open for the breeze, even if it brings in some noise.
