Delmonte Fashions

You can find us at Plot No. 10 on 2nd Pasta Lane. We are right by S. B. Road in Colaba, sitting adjacent to Fort Fountain Plaza. It’s an interesting part of town to work in. Delmonte Fashions isn’t a high-end boutique with bright lights. It’s more of a functional workshop. We spend our time surrounded by patterns, sewing machines, and bits of thread. The building has seen better days, but it’s got character. We like being so close to the plaza because it makes it easy for people to give directions. We aren't interested in being a big corporation. Most of us have been working here for years. We know each other's families and stories. Sometimes the lane gets crowded with delivery bikes, which can be a bit of a headache. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just have a lot of work to do. We cut fabric and sew garments day in and day out. It’s physical work and our hands are often tired by the end of the shift. The neighborhood has changed quite a bit since we first started, but our little corner remains the same. We just keep our heads down and focus on the orders we have. It’s a practical life for us here in the heart of the city.
