Down in Fort, on Kudlu Road just off Hosur Road, you will find us at Classic Automobile & Industrial Hose. Our spot is at 1013. It is an area that has always got something going on, especially with all the vehicles and industrial activity nearby. We spend our days surrounded by hoses of every size and material you can think of. Some are for cars and some are for big machines used in factories. The smell of rubber is something you just get used to after the first week. It is a practical kind of job. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and cutting them to the right length for whoever comes in needing a replacement. The shop is more of a warehouse feel, with racks going up high and rolls of tubing stacked in the corners. It gets dusty because of the road outside, so we are always wiping things down. We are not really into the whole high-tech office vibe; we prefer having our tools within reach and knowing exactly where every type of fitting is kept. Customers usually know what they want, so we just get it for them and chat for a minute before they head back out. The weather can be a bit much sometimes, but the breeze from the open door helps. It is just a steady, honest way to spend the day in a busy part of town.
