Citizen Hotel

We are located at 960, Juhu Tara Road, right by Juhu Beach. If you stand on the balcony, you can smell the salt in the air. It’s a busy building. We spend a lot of time dealing with wet floors and sandy shoes because everyone comes back from the beach with half the shore on them. The lobby isn't huge, and the furniture is a bit dated, but it’s comfortable enough for waiting around. We have a small staff and we all do a bit of everything. One minute I’m at the desk, the next I’m checking if the laundry came back. Juhu Tara Road is never quiet. You hear the cars and the people all through the night. The rooms are basic. We keep the towels clean and make sure the fans work. We don’t have those fancy touch screens or anything. Just regular keys and a big ledger for check-ins. It gets really humid here, so we are always fighting with the damp. The building at 960 has been here for years. It’s seen a lot of people come and go. Sometimes we sit on the steps in the evening when it’s a bit cooler. It’s a lot of work keeping a hotel running, especially this close to the water. We just keep at it, day after day, making sure things are mostly in order for whoever shows up.
