Chocolate Shoppe

We are based out of Flat No 202 in Sabita Apartment. It’s over in Bandra West, specifically near the Khar Gymkhana Lane. It’s a bit unusual having a shop in an apartment building, but it works for us. When you walk into the building, you just take the stairs or the lift up to the second floor. The kitchen is where most of the work happens, and you can usually smell the chocolate as soon as you get to the landing. It’s not a big commercial kitchen, just a regular home setup that we’ve adapted for our needs. We have trays of sweets drying on the counters and jars of ingredients tucked into every cupboard. Bandra is a lively area, and being near the gymkhana means there is always life on the street below. Our living room has a few tables where we pack things into boxes. It gets a bit messy with ribbons and wrapping paper everywhere, especially before the holidays. We don’t have a big storefront window to show off what we make. Instead, people usually find out about us by word of mouth or by following the scent of cocoa. It’s a very local, quiet way of doing things. We spend a lot of time just melting, pouring, and waiting for things to set. Sometimes the cat gets in the way, but we manage. It’s just a small, home-based thing that we enjoy doing every day.
