Our ice factory is located in Turbhe, over in Navi Mumbai. If you've ever been around this part of Maharashtra, you know it gets pretty hot, so making ice keeps us very busy. The facility is usually cold and damp, which is a nice change from the heat outside, but it can be tough on the hands after a few hours. We spend our days managing the freezing tanks and making sure the blocks or cubes are ready for the trucks that show up early in the morning. It’s a noisy place with the compressors running all the time, and there’s always water on the floor, so we have to wear heavy boots. We supply ice to local markets, fishmongers, and even some events around the city. We aren't a high-tech corporate office; we're a working factory with real people who get their hands cold every day. Most of our staff have been with us for years and they know exactly how the machinery works. Sometimes things break down at the worst time, like in the middle of a heatwave, and we have to scramble to get the repairs done so the ice doesn't melt. It’s a straightforward business, really. We make ice, we load it up, and we send it out to whoever needs it in Navi Mumbai. There’s not much more to it than that, just honest daily work to keep things cool for everyone else. We start early and finish when the last truck leaves.
