Chess Training Foundation

We set up the Chess Training Foundation right here in Malad West, way up on the 14th floor of the Blue Orbit building. It's right across from Inorbit Mall on the Goregaon Mulund Link Road, so there's always plenty of traffic outside, but it stays quiet enough inside for a match. We spend most of our afternoons and evenings just setting up the wooden pieces and waiting for the students to show up. Most of them are just local kids from around Mumbai City, though we get the occasional adult who wants to brush up on their opening moves. It isn’t a fancy or polished setup by any means. We just have basic tables, chairs, and enough chess sets to go around. Sometimes we get a bit distracted looking out the window since we’re so high up, but usually, everyone stays focused on the boards. People mostly come here because they want to get better at the game, and that’s basically all we do here. No big speeches or complicated rules outside of the game itself. If you know where the mall is, finding us isn't too hard. Sometimes the lift takes a minute to arrive, but once you get inside the room, the world outside doesn't matter much. We've been in this spot for a bit now, and the daily routine of wiping down boards and setting clocks feels like home. It’s just what we do every day for the love of the game.
