Chemill

Chemill is located in the middle of the chaos of Princess Street. We are on the third floor of Sharaf Mansion, which is an old building with a lot of character. Finding us can be a bit of a challenge because you have to navigate through Dhiru Bhai Parekh Lane and Old Hanuman Lane. The whole area is packed with traders and small businesses, so there is always a lot of shouting and moving of goods going on outside. Our office is number 308. It is a cramped space with stacks of papers and samples everywhere you look. We have been here for a long time, and we have gotten used to the noise and the narrow hallways. Most of our day is spent coordinating milling work and talking to suppliers. We do not have a big team, just enough of us to keep things running. The lift in Sharaf Mansion is quite small and often full of boxes, so we usually just walk up the three flights of stairs. It is a bit of an old-fashioned way of working, but it fits the neighborhood. We do not have any fancy furniture or a clean corporate look. The desks are old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that. We like being in this part of Mumbai because it feels real and everyone is just trying to earn a living.
