Chauhan Auto Industries

The shop is over in the Mahalaxmipuram area of Kandivali. If you walk by Chauhan Auto Industries, you will probably hear the sound of tools hitting metal or a machine running in the back. It is a real workshop, so don't expect it to be clean or quiet. There is oil on the floor in some spots and the smell of grease is pretty much everywhere, but that is how you know work is getting done. We have been here for a while, and the neighborhood knows us as the guys who are always under a hood or fixing some part. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to write fancy letters for us. It is just us, some heavy wrenches, and a lot of parts that need fixing. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the morning, so we stay in the shade of the back area mostly. We have a small bench where we sit for ten minutes to drink water and catch our breath. Sometimes people come in with things that are really broken, and we have to tell them it will take a few days. We don't promise things we can't do. It is a straightforward kind of life, working with your hands and making sure the machines are running like they should be before they leave the shop. It is hard work but we like it.
