Our office is in the Premalaya Building on Siontrombay Road, right next to the Cafe Coffee Day. It’s actually a pretty convenient landmark for when people are trying to find us for the first time. Inside Chary Publications, you’ll mostly see stacks of magazines and papers everywhere because that’s just the nature of publishing. Lighting India is one of the main things we work on, so there’s always talk about bulbs, circuits, and industry news floating around the rooms. It can get a bit chaotic when we’re close to a deadline, with people rushing to finish articles or check the layout one last time. We’ve been in this building for a long time, and the walls are covered with old covers and bits of history from the trade. It isn't a modern, minimalist space by any means; it feels like a place where work actually happens. The noise from the road outside is a constant backdrop, but you stop noticing it after a week or two. We spend a lot of time on the phone or emailing back and forth with contributors. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the photos look right before things go to print. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just like putting out the magazines and keeping the industry informed about what’s going on. Sometimes we have too many boxes in the hallway, but we eventually get them sent out to the readers.
