Chaitri Beauty Parlour

You can find us over at Plot No 2 in the Vyas Building on Society Road. It’s in Jogeshwari East, right across from Ismail Yusuf College. There is a photo studio called Picture Photo Studio just in front of us, so we are basically behind that. It’s a busy little spot because of the college students always walking back and forth. I’ve spent many years in this building. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it feels like home to me. I start my day by sweeping the front step and getting the water heater going. Jogeshwari can get really noisy with the trains and the traffic, but inside the parlour, it’s a bit more peaceful. We get a lot of girls from the college coming in for a quick eyebrow threading or to get their hair done for a function. It’s a lot of work, especially during the wedding season when everyone wants to look their best at the same time. I usually have the radio playing in the background, just some old songs to keep the mood light. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to say hello even if they don’t need anything done. It’s that kind of place. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just the standard beauty work that people need in their daily lives. You just walk down Society Road and look for the studio, we are right there.
