Pohoonals Exports Pvt. Ltd. operates out of the second and third floors of the Shiv Industrial Estate. We are on K. V. Balmukund Marg, which is quite near the Byculla Goods Depot in Chinchpokli East. Being on the upper floors means we do a lot of walking up and down the stairs, especially when the lift is being slow. We deal with export goods, so there is always paperwork and boxes moving around. The area is quite old and has that classic industrial feel to it. It’s busy from early morning with all the goods depot activity nearby. Our space is functional; we have rooms for storage and a small area where we handle the admin side of things. We have been here for a good while. The neighborhood is full of small businesses and warehouses just like ours. It can get pretty loud with the traffic and the trains, but that is just part of being in Chinchpokli. We do not really have a showroom or anything like that. It is more of a workspace where we coordinate where things need to go. We have a small crew that knows the routine well. We focus on getting the shipments ready and making sure the documentation is correct. It is a lot of detail work, but we are used to the pace. We just keep our heads down and get the work done every day to make sure everything gets where it needs to go.
