Working in Goregaon East is always a bit loud because of the traffic and all the other businesses around us. We are located in the A Wing of Durian Estate, right on the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road. It is a busy spot and finding a parking space in the morning can be a real headache. The workshop area is where most of the action happens with the drilling machines. There is always that smell of oil and cut metal in the air, which you just get used to after a few days. The office part is on the third floor, covering Plot 301 to 303. It is a bit of a maze in this estate if you don’t know where you are going. We have been here for a while and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the machines to worry about that. Lunch is usually brought from home and eaten at the big table in the back. We hear the local trains occasionally and the constant hum of the link road. It is a practical space for what we do. Nothing is for show here. We just make sure the machines are ready and the orders are moving out the door. Some days the humidity makes the metal sweat, and we have to stay on top of that. It is just honest work in a crowded part of Mumbai where everyone is just trying to get through the day.
