British Engineering Co

Our office is tucked away at 105, Bombay Samachar Marg in the Fort area. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy this neighborhood stays throughout the week. British Engineering Co has been operating out of this space for quite some time now. The building has that old Fort character, with high ceilings and heavy doors that have been painted over more times than I can count. We aren't doing anything flashy here. Most of our time is spent looking over technical drawings or talking to suppliers about various engineering projects. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the numbers actually add up before any work starts. The desks are usually covered in files, half-empty coffee cups, and a few rulers that have seen better days. We don't have a big receptionist or a lobby with soft music. You just walk in and see us working. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when the street noise drifts in through the windows, but we’re used to it by now. It feels like a real workplace where things actually get done. We talk to people from all over who need engineering help, and we just give them the facts as we see them. There’s no point in overcomplicating things. We show up in the morning, do the engineering work required, and head home when the sun goes down. The stairs in the building are a bit narrow, so hauling equipment up is always a bit of a workout. We have a small kitchenette in the back.
