We are set up in units 206 and 207 of Nirma Plaza, which is on Makwana Road near Marol Naka in Andheri East. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy this area gets, especially with the metro nearby and all the offices packed into every building. British Berkefeld has been operating from this particular spot for quite a while now. The office isn't very large, so we have to be smart about how we use the space. Boxes of filters and ceramic parts often spill out from the storage area into the main workspace. It’s a busy little hub where the phone is usually ringing and someone is always trying to track an order. We don't have those fancy open-plan offices you see in magazines; it’s more of a traditional setup with desks squeezed in wherever they fit. The windows look out onto the street, so we get a front-row seat to the daily traffic jams and the rain when it pours. Most of us have been working together for a long time, so we don't need many formal meetings to know what needs to happen next. We just get our tea, sit down, and start going through the day's tasks. It’s a practical, no-nonsense environment for us. Sometimes the building's lift is out of service, and we have to lug stuff up the stairs, which keeps us on our toes. We are just a group of people doing our best to manage things.
