Brijesh Engineering Works

Our workshop, Brijesh Engineering Works, is located in the Soni Compound along Kenchappa Road in Goregaon East. If you walk by, you’ll probably hear the sound of lathes running or the smell of cutting oil. It’s a real working shop, not a showroom. We spend our time fixing mechanical parts and making sure machines keep running like they should. It is often hot and noisy in here, but that’s just part of the job. Most of us have grease under our fingernails most of the time. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to answer phones with a script. Usually, someone just wipes their hands on a rag and comes over to talk to you. We've been in Goregaon East for quite a few years and have seen the neighborhood grow up around the compound. The floor is concrete and stained with oil from decades of work. We take on small jobs for neighbors and bigger tasks for local factories when they have a breakdown. It’s straightforward work. We look at the problem, see if we can fix it, and tell you how long it will take. Sometimes the parts are hard to find, so we have to get creative. We just enjoy working with our hands and seeing a machine start back up after it’s been sitting dead for a week. That’s what we do every day at the compound.
