Electric House is where we spend our days. It’s an old building on Best Marg right in Colaba. Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking is a long name, but everyone just calls us the BEST. Being in South Mumbai means there's always noise from the street outside. Buses are coming and going constantly. Inside, the ceilings are high and the hallways are kind of long. It feels like history is stuck in the walls here. We sit at our desks and handle whatever comes across them. It’s not a quiet place. You hear the city moving all around you. People come in with questions or just to drop off papers. Sometimes the elevators are slow so we just take the stairs. Working at Electric House means you’re right in the middle of everything. We have some small shops nearby for lunch. It’s a very busy area. Most of the staff has been here for years. We know the routines. The fans hum all day long. It's an old-school atmosphere. No fancy glass walls or modern art here. Just a lot of wood and paper and people trying to keep things moving for the city. It’s just how it’s always been at Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking. We get through the work and go home.
