About Bombay Hospital & Medical Research Centre – Medical & Healthcare in Mumbai
Being based at No. 12 New Marine Lines is something you get used to after a few months. The Bombay Hospital & Medical Research Centre is a pretty large complex, and it’s easy to get turned around if you’re new. I’ve been here long enough that I know which stairs are faster than the lift. The air in this part of town always feels a bit heavy because we’re so close to the coast. It’s a busy neighborhood with people constantly rushing to catch their trains or get to work. Inside the gates, things are more focused. We deal with a lot of paperwork and research every day. It’s not the kind of place with bright colors or modern furniture; it’s more about functionality. The wooden chairs in the office have been around for ages. We have a few windows that look out towards the street, and you can hear the honking of taxis all day. It’s a bit noisy, but you stop noticing it after a while. Most of us bring our own lunch and sit together in the small area near the back stairs. It’s a plain, honest place to work. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles. We just focus on the tasks at hand and try to keep things moving. The building has a lot of history, and you can see it in the architecture and the way the rooms are laid out.
