About Bombay Hospital & Medical Research Center – Medical & Healthcare in Mumbai
New Marine Lines is a crowded part of the city, and being at number 12 means we are right in the middle of it all. Bombay Hospital & Medical Research Center has been a fixture here for quite some time. When you walk from the station, you can feel the humidity from the sea, even if you can't always see the water from the lower floors. The building is old but sturdy. Inside, it feels different than the busy streets outside. There are lots of long hallways and heavy doors. I work mostly in the research section, which stays a bit quieter than the main patient areas. We have shelves full of old records and papers that have been sitting there for years. The floors are made of that old stone that stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit in the back rooms, but we just get on with it. It’s not a fancy office. Most of the desks are crowded with folders and equipment. We eat our lunch in a small breakroom that smells like coffee and old paper. You see the same faces every day, from the security guards at the gate to the lab techs upstairs. It’s a routine that works for us. Living and working in South Bombay has its own pace, and we’ve all just become part of the furniture here.
