Bombay Hindu Hotel

We are located at Shop number 3 on 2nd Khetwadi Back Road. If you are standing near Alankar Cinema, you can see us right across the way. This is an old part of Mumbai, Khetwadi-Girgaon, and it has a very specific feel to it. Our hotel is a simple place where people come to eat a regular meal. We don't have a big menu with a hundred things on it. We just cook the daily dishes that people in this neighborhood like. The tables are basic and the space is a bit tight, especially during the lunch hour when everyone comes in at once. We’ve been in this spot for years and seen the cinema across the street go through many changes. Running a small hotel in Mumbai isn't easy with the space and the costs, but we make it work. It's just a few of us in the kitchen and one or two people helping out front. We start the prep work before the sun is even up properly. The neighborhood is noisy and crowded, but that’s just Khetwadi. We have people from the nearby shops and offices who eat here every single day. We don't do anything special for publicity, we just keep the food ready and the door open. It’s a practical place for a quick, filling meal while you’re out in the Girgaon area. We try to keep it as simple as possible.
