Bombay Cine Chairs

We are over here at Bharat Ind.Est. on Tokorsey Jivraj Rd. The unit number is 308. Living in an industrial area means it gets quite loud and dusty with all the trucks coming and going all day. Making these chairs for theaters has been our life for a long time now. Most of the work is manual, using metal frames and padding and fabric. A fancy air-conditioned office is not something you will find here. Instead, there is just the workshop floor and a lot of tools scattered around. When it rains hard in Mumbai, the roof leaks a little, but we manage to keep the finished stock dry. Word of mouth is how people usually find us. Sometimes they see our sign while stuck in traffic on the main road. Because we don't have a marketing team, we just focus on the work. A few of us spend the day making sure the chairs are sturdy enough for people to sit on for three hours straight. Getting the foam cuts right and dealing with suppliers takes up most of our time. It is a bit of a squeeze in the estate during big orders. You just have to be patient with the lack of space. Being local guys, we just do what we know. If you stop by, you'll probably see us covered in some sort of glue or thread. That is just part of the day here.
