Bombay Badlapur Transport

We operate out of 156-B on S V P Road. We’re right in the S K R Market area, just opposite the Shiv Mandir. It’s a very busy part of town. There are always people and carts moving about. Our job is basically getting things from one place to another, mostly between here and Badlapur. It’s a lot of logistics, but on a small scale. The office is just a place to keep the logbooks and the keys. Most of the time we are out on the floor or dealing with the drivers. The temple across the street is a good landmark. I hear the bells every morning when I open up. It’s a tough business sometimes, dealing with traffic and fuel prices. We’ve been here for years, so we know all the other traders in the market. Sometimes the rain makes loading difficult, but we just throw some tarps over and keep going. It’s not a glamorous job. You spend a lot of time on the phone or shouting over the noise of the market. But it’s what we do. My father started this, and now I’m the one looking after the daily stuff. We keep it simple. If something needs to move, we move it. That’s about it for us. We don't have any big slogans or anything. We just show up and get the trucks loaded on time. It's honest work and it keeps the family going.
