Bluestar Surgical Corporation

Bluestar Surgical Corporation is way up on the 4th floor of B 50 in Bhang Wadi, right off Kalbadevi Road. If you know Kalbadevi, you know how crowded it gets with handcarts and people everywhere. Finding our building can be a bit of a challenge the first time. We handle surgical instruments and hospital supplies. It’s a lot of stainless steel and plastic packaging up here. Because we’re on the 4th floor, we get a little bit of a breeze, but it’s still quite stuffy during the monsoon. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s mostly just rows of shelves and a few desks where we take orders. The stairs are narrow, so moving large boxes is a workout for everyone. We’ve been in this market for a long time, so we know how the trading goes. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a big lobby or leather chairs. We just focus on keeping the inventory organized so we can find what a customer needs quickly. Most of our business is done with wholesalers and small nursing homes. We drink a lot of tea and spend our afternoons checking lists. It’s a busy, cramped space, but it’s our home. When the market closes at night, it finally gets quiet enough to hear the birds outside the window. We finish the paperwork and head home.
