Bhumidhata Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are a group of women from Devgaon who decided to start Bhumidhata Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited. It all happens out of House Number 21 here in Murbad. Most of us have been working the land around Thane for as long as we can remember. It gets quite hot during the summer months and the rain in Maharashtra is something you just have to deal with. We don't have a big fancy office with glass doors or anything like that. It is just a place where we meet to talk about the crops and how to handle the harvest better this year. Working together seemed like a good idea because doing everything alone is just too hard on a person. We grow what we can and try to make sure nothing goes to waste. Sometimes the roads are a bit rough getting into Devgaon but we manage to get things moved. Being in the 421401 area means we are close enough to the bigger markets but we still live a very quiet life. We handle the seeds, the soil, and the selling part too. It is a lot of work every day. We don't really have a lot of time for writing long stories about ourselves because there is always something needing to be done in the fields. We just wanted a way to keep things moving for our families and our village. That is pretty much all there is to it.
