Raman Bangles

Raman Bangles is right here in Bhuleshwar, at 85/87 J. M. Compound on 3rd Bhoiwada. It gets pretty crowded around here, especially in the afternoons when everyone is out shopping. My father started this place years ago and we just keep it going every day. The compound has a lot of history and you can hear the noise from the street all day long. We mostly deal with all kinds of bangles, glass ones, metal ones, whatever people are looking for. It's not a big fancy showroom or anything like that. We have shelves stacked high and sometimes it's hard to find exactly what you want right away, but we know where everything is. The tea seller across the lane comes by twice a day, which is the highlight of the morning. People come from all over Mumbai to Bhuleshwar for jewelry and we are just one small part of that whole mess. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk to the neighbors. Other days, it’s so busy we don’t even have time to eat lunch until four in the afternoon. The building is old and the stairs are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful when you're carrying boxes up and down. Sometimes the rain leaks through the front door a little bit when it's monsoon season, so we keep some old towels ready. It’s just one of those things you deal with in an old compound like this. We don't do much advertising, mostly just people who know us or walk by and see the sign. It’s just how we live and work here.
