Palak Impex

Our office is located in the Amba Mata Industrial Estate over in Bhayandar East. We are in Gala E 2 on the first floor. It’s a typical industrial setup on B. P. Cross Road. You have to walk up a flight of concrete stairs to get to us. The estate is usually full of the sounds of small factories and people moving crates around. Inside our unit, it’s mostly open space where we handle all the impex stuff. We have some heavy metal shelves and a few sturdy tables for packing. It gets pretty humid here, so we always have the big pedestal fans running. We don’t really worry about the decor; it’s more about having space to move things around. Most of the day is spent checking the manifests and talking to the drivers who come to pick up the goods. We’ve got a small corner with a computer where we do the digital work, but a lot of it is still done on paper. It’s a bit messy sometimes, especially when a new shipment arrives and we have to sort everything out on the floor. We take our breaks outside on the landing to get some air and talk to the guys from the other galas. It’s honest work and we’ve got a good rhythm going with the other units in the building. It’s just a normal day of moving things from one place to another.
