Our workshop is over at C/116 in the Government Industrial Estate in Charkop, Kandivli West. It’s a very busy industrial area, so there’s always the sound of saws and machinery from our place and the neighbors. Bhavik Furniture has been in this particular unit for a long time now. The floor is usually covered in sawdust and stacked with different types of wood and half-finished frames. It’s a bit messy and loud, but that’s just the nature of making furniture. We have a small corner walled off with some plywood to act as an office, but we spend most of our time out on the floor. Our workers are mostly local guys who have been in the trade for years; they really know what they’re doing with the tools. The heat can be pretty intense in the summer under the metal roof, but we have a few big fans to keep the air moving. We don't have a fancy showroom here; if people want to see what we’re doing, they come right into the workshop. You have to navigate around the delivery trucks parked in the estate to find us. It’s a hardworking, no-nonsense environment. We don't do much marketing or big advertisements. Most of our work comes from word of mouth or people who know us from the estate. We just focus on building things that last.
