We’ve been here in Dadar West at Shivaji Nagar for quite a while now. It is a busy spot, specifically C 14/22. Mostly we deal with fridges that have stopped cooling or maybe they start making a weird rattling noise in the middle of the night. People around here in Mumbai know where to find us when their kitchen starts smelling like spoiled milk. It is not a big fancy showroom with bright lights or anything like that. Just a workshop where we keep all the tools and spare parts for different brands we see every day. Sometimes the shop is a bit messy because of all the old compressors and gas cylinders lying around on the floor. We usually head out to people's houses when their cooling goes out because you can't really carry a big fridge down the stairs and across town easily. The traffic around Shivaji Nagar can be a real pain in the afternoons, so we try to get the morning calls done first. It is just us working here, trying to get things running again so people’s food doesn't go to waste in this heat. If we aren't at the shop, we are probably out on a repair job somewhere nearby or grabbing a quick tea at the corner stall. We keep some second-hand parts too if someone is looking for a cheaper fix for an old machine. It gets incredibly hot in the city, so there is always someone calling about a gas leak or a motor that just gave up. We just do the work and move on.
