Bharat Transport Corporation

We’ve been here at Sewri for quite some time now, right across from where the Digvijay Cement Factory is. It gets a bit dusty with all the trucks moving in and out, but that’s just how things are around here. Bharat Transport Corporation isn’t a huge office or anything fancy. It’s just us in the Koli Samaj Building, usually dealing with drivers and getting the paperwork sorted for various loads. Most days it’s just phone calls back and forth, trying to figure out which truck is where and why things are running late. The traffic around the factory can be a real headache sometimes, especially in the mornings when everything gets jammed up. We see a lot of people passing through this part of Sewri. My desk is usually covered in receipts and manifests that need checking. We don't have a big fancy sign or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll probably find someone drinking tea or arguing about a route on a map. It’s hard work, keeping stuff moving across the city or further out, but we keep at it. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult, especially when we’re loading up near the building entrance, but we manage. It’s a busy spot to be in, and there's always noise from the street. We’ve known the neighbors for years, so it feels like home even when the work gets stressful. Anyway, that’s basically what we do here every day from morning till the sun goes down.
