We are located at Dc-1170. It’s a simple spot, nothing too flashy about the building or the office itself. We deal with gems, so the space is mostly filled with small parcels and scales. There’s a lot of light because you need to see the colors and the flaws in the stones properly. We spend a good chunk of our day sorting through piles of stones, looking for the ones that stand out. It’s a quiet kind of work. You sit at a table, you have your loupe, and you just go through what’s there. Sometimes the days feel long when there’s a lot to sort, but that’s just the nature of the gem business. We don’t spend money on big signs or fancy furniture. Most of our furniture is just functional—desks that can hold the weight and chairs that don't hurt your back after eight hours of sitting. People who know the trade know where to find us. We keep things pretty straightforward here. No one’s wearing a suit unless they have to for a meeting. It’s mostly just casual clothes and a lot of focus on the inventory. We’ve been at Dc-1170 for a while now, and it’s become like a second home to us. It’s just us and the stones, making sure everything is accounted for and moved along to the next person who needs them. There is always something new to look at when a fresh shipment arrives.
