We are located down at Mill Corner in Kotwalpura, right on the Mumbai Udaynagar Main Road. It is a dusty spot because of all the traffic and the machines. We have our yard there where we keep the cranes and the bulldozers. When you walk by, you can usually see one of us working on an engine or cleaning off the grease. It is heavy work and it keeps us tired. We have been in this location for many years. We know the main road like the back of our hand. Most of our work is out at construction sites or wherever someone needs something heavy moved. When we are at the office, it is mostly just to handle the calls and do the basic maintenance. The office is just a small shack-like structure in the corner of the yard. It is full of tools and spare parts. We don't have a computer for everything; a lot of our notes are just written in big ledgers. It gets very hot in the summer, and the metal on the machines can burn your hands if you aren't careful. We just do the job that needs doing. If a machine breaks down, we fix it ourselves. It is a practical life. We aren't worried about looking professional or polished. We just want to make sure the equipment is ready when a call comes in. It is a noisy, busy place but it is ours.
