Bhagwati Medical

Bhagwati Medical is situated on Shri Hanuman Mandir Road in the Marol area of Andheri East. We are right by the Ashram Road and Ellis Bridge section, which is always busy with people going to and from work. The shop is small but we try to keep it stocked with the things people in Marol need most. You can hear the bells from the Hanuman temple nearby throughout the day. We spend a lot of our time standing behind the counter, reading prescriptions and looking for boxes on the high shelves. The fridge for the insulin hums in the corner, and we have a small stool for when things get quiet, though that doesn't happen often. Marol is a crowded place, and being near the bridge means there is a constant stream of traffic and noise. We know many of the families around here by name. They come in for their regular blood pressure medicine or just for a packet of Band-Aids. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the Andheri traffic, and we have to tell people to come back later in the evening. It’s not a glamorous job, and the hours are quite long. We open early and stay open until the streets start to empty out. We don’t have any fancy displays. It’s just shelves of medicine and us trying to make sure everyone gets what they came for.
